Christmas Handicap - 23 Dec 2007

There was an excellent turnoout of over 50 runners for the Christmas handicap.  For those who don't know, you have to predict your time for the 9.6K course and then run without your watch.  The person nearest to their predicted time wins.  This year Guy Lawrenson, who was only one second out, took the honours. There was also a fancy dress prize which went to Santa Jeremy Barber (30 seconds out). Everyone got a certificate and there were spot prizes galore.  The run was followed by mulled wine and then a convivial lunch at the Royal Oak at Hilltop.  All in all an excellent event and thanks go to everyone who worked so hard to make it so.  You can see the full results here.

Oh and a grey digital watch was left behind after the event. Would the owner please contact Mick Anglim (see contact us tab).

Victory 5 - 2 Dec 2007

We were buffeted by high winds and cooled by driving rain.  Overall our senior men were 9th and our Vets A & B were 4th and 19th.  Our Vet women were also 19th.  You can see the full results on the Portsmouth Athletic site here

Test Way Relay - Sat 8 September 2007

We organise this popular relay along the 44 miles of the Test Way.  This year saw the 22nd running of the event for club teams (men, women and mixed).  Here are the race report and the results.  The next event is not until September 2008 but you may be interested to see the 2007 entry form which gives details of the start times and the location of changeover points.  Results for all years from 1999 to 2006 are on the RR10 site (scroll to the foot of the page for the links).

We get to organise the event next year.  This time it included a novelty relay the first leg being a classic egg and spoon race, the second a 3-legged race, the 3rd leg balancing a bean bag on the head, and the final leg a sack race.   I wonder what we'll come up with?!
