Our Hardley Runners Calendar includes most of the events Hardley Runners are likely to enter.  If there's anything you'd like added please ask Tamsin Roberts who keeps the calendar up to date.

You can show week, month or just the days with something on using the tabs on the top right.  And the little drop down arrow to the right of the tabs enables you to show/hide public holidays.  Click on an event to read more about it.  Event details can change so please always check websites for final details.  And if you find something that's incorrect please let us know so we can update the entry.

Hants Road Race League - Ryde 10 and more

HRRL Captain, Vicki Clarke, writes, "The next round of HRRL races are rapidly creeping up on us, and it would be amazing to get some full teams out to get a sea of purple waving the Hardley flag. These races are for people of all abilities, but to enter as a Hardley entrant, you do need to be EA affiliated, so please consider adding this to your membership in April if you don't already have it. This also opens up all the training sessions giving you access to a wealth of knowledge from our skilled trainers. These races are filling up well in advance, and appear to have opened very early, so if you are tempted in the slightest get entered quickly. Number swaps can be done nearly up to race day if anything crops up and you can no longer run.

Next up we've got Ryde 10m on 3rd Feb 11am - a lovely undulating run through the scenic routes of the Isle of Wight. We are also providing subsidised ferry transport for full cars and are planning fish and chips in a local chippy after, so please let me know if you are planning on coming so we can book some cars.

Next the 1st newby to the league - Fleet Half marathon on 17th March - this is a registered EA Masters Qualification event, so good for the more senior quick members of the club to attempt to qualify for the English team! Don't let this put you off as a normal runner though, it's a big event that's still one for all abilities!

Then it's Salisbury 10m on 14th April -

Alton 10m on 13th May -

Netley 10k on 19th May - This year this will be our CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! -…

Then another newby to the League - Alresford 10k on 16th June - I've heard murmerings of hills, but I feel this is definitely fake news -

And finally Lordshill 10k on 30th June -…

I'll obviously keep sending out more emails closer to the events, but get these in the diary and enter if you can!

The Stonehenge Stomp - Sunday 27 January 2019

Club President, Mick Anglim, writes, "The Stonehenge Stomp was an annual LDWA event organised by Amesbury Walkers which was taken on by City of Salisbury RC for it's 30th anniversary last year. It starts and finishes at the Sports Centre, Holders Road, Amesbury, SP4 7NT. Optional distances are 5 (new), 10, 20, 30 or 40 kms on a mixture of bridleways, footpaths and minor roads. All routes are loops with views of Stonehenge and are over scenic chalk downland, which in places is exposed, so if the weather is poor take a decent cagoule.

Runners are asked to start AFTER 09.15 and the only other restriction is to finish by 16.00hrs. The Entry Fee is £5.00 which includes drinks, sweets and biscuits at the checkpoints and a commemorative cloth badge (if entered in advance).

Hot refreshments and showers are available at the Sports Centre afterwards.

For those who have not participated before, this is a very friendly walker's event that welcomes courteous runners. Official times are NOT recorded nor results produced, so it is an ideal, low key and supported training run or walk, particularly for marathon preparation. You can change your mind during the event and run a different distance, as the longer courses overlap the shorter routes. However control cards need to be marked at the checkpoints if you want a badge at the finish in the Sports Centre.

There are typed route descriptions for all courses which are waymarked by different coloured tape at junctions around the routes. Trail shoes are generally ideal but the underfoot conditions can be confirmed at the registration desk if you want the option of road shoes.

You can find more information at

Entry on the day is possible but there is a trophy for clubs of 10 or more that pre-enter. We regularly have over 30 Hardley Runners for this event so there should be plenty of company, at least on the middle courses.

The Stomp trophy will be presented at the Hardley Awards Lunch to the most deserving, not necessarily fastest, individual completing one of the courses.

Anyone wishing to be included in the Hardley block entry should e-mail or phone with their ‘intended’ distance to or 023 80845744 before Saturday 19th January.

The £5 entry fee MUST be given to the Anglims by that date or your name will NOT be included in the club entry. You can drop the money (with name and intended distance) through the letterbox at 10 Amberslade Walk, Dibden Purlieu, SO45 4NW.

It would also be helpful if a ‘regular’ at our training sessions would volunteer to collect entry fees.

Note that changes, including runner names, can be made on the day."

Hants Road Race League

The Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) is an annual series of road races for all runners from participating clubs in the County.  We field two men's teams (four per team) and two ladies' teams (three per team).  Club members who take part in the events are automatically members of the teams if they finish high enough up the field.  For some of the events where we are not well represented you may find you are in the team just by turning up!

Cross Country

There are two main series of events where we field teams - the CC6s and the Hampshire League.

The CC6s are now a series of 8 races held over the winter period on cross country courses (lots of lovely mud :-) ). Each course is between 4 and 5 miles (most around 4.5 miles) and is hosted by one or more clubs so that everyone is able to run 7 out of the 8 races. They are free for club members and the only requirement is that you run in club colours, please contact me if you need a Hardley Vest or T-Shirt.

Cross Country Captain, Tim Anetts, will email you leading up to each event with more information on courses, conditions, etc.  He will also be emailing to ask for your help with the marshaling and setting up of our own race at Dibden Inclosure on 25th November.   The CC6s are always great fun and I will hopefully see many of you there. Please note that as parking can be very limited at these venues I would like to request that you try to car share wherever possible, thank you.

You can find out more about these races by visiting the CC6 website (see links page).  The 2018/19 fixture list is below.  All races start at 9.30am.

Other events

In addition to the CC6s and the HCCL we field teams at the Southern Championships and the Nationals and other events listed below.  If you'd like to enter any of these events (runners of all standards welcome - you don't have to be fast to enjoy the experience) please contact our caretaker Cross Country Captain, Tim Anetts.  We usually run a free minibus for the Southerns and the Nationals.

We also try to field teams for

parkruns - free weekly 5K runs

All you have to do is register in advance and turn up any Saturday morning at 9am.  There's no charge. Sounds like an excellent way of getting in a quick workout and monitoring your fitness. Click here for details

Magic Miles

Our friends at Lordshill Road Runners have a series of timed mile events open to members of other clubs.  You need to register and get a barcode, a process which is simple and which will be familiar to parkrunners.  The events are on Southampton Common starting near the Cowherds at 6.30pm.

You can read more about the events and register here.

Cycling Time Trials

We are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials which allows any of our members to take part in both local Club Time Trials and Open events. From March to September there is a full programme of local events which cost c£3 to enter on the day.

See this season's events at:

If you would like more information please contact Mick Anglim.

RR10 Series

RR10s are by far the most popular events with our members.  The RR10 league is a series of races organised by running clubs in south-west Hampshire for their members. The races are held on Wednesday evenings during the spring and summer.  Entry is free for full members. All of the races are 4-5 miles off-road. The standard of runners varies from 5-minute milers to 12+ minute milers so, however fast you are, there will always be someone to compete with or just enjoy a run together if that's what you prefer. The only requirement is to wear a Hardley vest on the night and there are usually some for sale at the race for £15 or £17 for a tee=-shirt so please do give the series a try. There is usually a lift share from the Applemore car park.

The league has become very popular with record numbers attending so for the 2016 season onwards there have been some minor changes to accommodate more people.  There will be 11 races with each club dropping out on one so each club will take part in 10 races including one as organiser as at present.

Every runner will still have nine races to compete in, of which their best six will count for the league position, as in previous years.

Please do not attend our drop out race as a spectator!

The dates for the 2018 season are below. Next year is likely to be similar.
