2012 10K Race and 1.5K Fun Run- Sunday 18 March 2012

Your feedback about the 2011 race was so good that we've decided to do it again. The date is confirmed as Sunday 18 March which is Mothering Sunday so why not bring your mother along (or if you are a mother bring the family) and enjoy the lovely flowers in the gardens afterwards.

There's a new 1.5K fun run in the grounds (click here for the route) while the main race is going on so kids (or anyone who doesn't fancy 10K for that matter) can enjoy a run as well.

Fees for the 10K are £12 for EA Affiliated Club members and £14 for Unattached runners. For the Fun Run it is £2.50 for under 15s and £6 for adults.

Our international reputation is spreading; we already have two entries from Belgium.

The Exbury 10K is a flat and fast circular course run over country lanes which starts and finishes at Exbury Gardens, taking in spectacular views of the Solent and includes approximately 500 metres of beach front running on the foreshore path at Lepe Beach.

The race will be starting at 9.30am, the same time as the 2011 race. Your race entry fee includes free entry to the beautiful Exbury gardens for competitors so why not bring a picnic and enjoy the lovely azealeas and flowers after the race.

There's free parking, good loos and excellent refreshments at Mr Eddy's tea room and restaurant. We regret that the course is unsuitable for wheelchair entrants.

Entries close on 10 March 2012 or when the race limit of 450 is reached if earlier. We have sold out before the closing date for the last four years so enter now to be sure of a place.

Goodies

We have a limited number of Exbury Gardens 10k fluorescent hats for sale at just £5 each. Also flourescent technical running Tee shirts at £8 in small, medium, large and extra large. They are great if you are marshalling at any race or want to avoid being hit by cars while running on roads. Just click on the pictures to see bigger ones. Aren't they wonderful and as this is a limited edition they will probably be a better hedge against inflation than keeping the money in the bank. What is more you get a reduction to £11 for the pair if you buy both. They will be on sale at the information tent at Exbury on raceday but pre-orders are accepted, for collection on the day, as there are only a limited number available. If you liked the race but aren't a member of a club please join us or your local club. Hardley Runners is a friendly club which welcomes members of all shapes and sizes from people who often come last to UK champions. To find out more just ask at the information tent at the race.
