2009 race

The 2008 race was such a success that we have decided to do it again.  The provisional date is Sunday 15 March 2009.  We will publish more information and an entry form once the date is confirmed.  In the meantime you can see last year's background information below.

This is the 2008 material and is for information only.  Some of the details will be different for 2009 as we build on the 2008 experience but we expect the general format to be much the same.

2008 race

The weather was good for our new event on Sunday 9th March 2008.  The course started and finished in the lovely Exbury Gardens and took runners along country roads past the beach at Lepe.  Thanks to everyone who turned out to marshal and to all the organisers for making it such a good event. 

We have the results in two formats

• a PDF (24K) - a list of finishers in order
• an Excel spreadsheet (47K) so you can sort them in whatever clever ways you want.  If you want to keep them go file: Save as and put a copy in the place on your computer where you keep results.

Runners' World gives the race a 96% overall score with 100% of contributors saying they will do it again.  Note link may not work if you are not a subscriber.  The glowing comments are just the encouragement we need to do it again

2008 Pictures

Here are

• a small gallery of photos.  It includes some of the Hardley runners, the leaders at Lepe (thanks to Malcolm Price), Lepe the next day which was very stormy (thanks to Ray Noke) and some flowers at Exbury. 
• a whole extra album thanks to Paul Blundell's son.  It includes about 120 pictures which he has edited down from 1,500!  They are mainly Hardley and have some excellent action sequences. 
• the Echo report from 13 March 2008(NB 533K so it may take a while to load)
