We organised this popular relay along the 46 miles (or thereabouts) of the Test Way from Inkpen Beacon to Eling Quay for more than 15 years. Ray Noke has retired from the lead role and we were delighted that our friends from Totton Running Club took over hosting the Test Way Relay. Our thanks Ray and all his team for making it such a good event for so long.
Sadly the race has not taken place for a couple of years now. We have our fingers crossed that someone will take it on.
There is a very helpful guide to the race on the Totton website. It includes maps of every leg. The only difference since it was written is that leg 2 has been shortened to finish at Hurstbourne Tarrant playing field which makes leg 3 a bit longer.
Full details are on the Totton RC website
This was 25th edition of the Test Way Relay. The forecast was poor but it turned out much nicer and there was warm sunshine by the finish. The high Spring tide on the last leg gave some competitors the additional challenge of waist deep water. A consequence was there there were no overall records this year but congratulations to Georgie McNichol of Winchester ladies for a new record on leg 8 from Romsey to the M27.
Thanks very much to Ray, Martin and all the organisers for a smashing event and to all the competitors who supported it.
